How many hours do I spend in front of my lap top daily? More hours than I spend sleeping(totally not healthy). So why not make the layout just a bit more fun?! (Can be healthy..visually.)
Sketch out the basic layout and placements.
Take silly pictures to make the designs.
Put them in place.
I enjoy blue sky, music, and spending hours customizing weird little icons just so my computer doesn't look like any others.

Sidenote//Inspiration folder is where I store all the cool graphics/quotes/poems I stumble upon through the web.
That's iTunes, MSN, and iChat.
The Adobe stuff I use and iPhoto. (Since Photoshop and Illustrator work so well together, one's actually high fivin' the other. )
Cyber Duck, an uploading ftp tool, and Firefox.
Dictionary, TextEdit(NotePad), MS Word, MS Excel, and Photo Booth.
The icons actually show up within the programs, too. haha.
