Mission: Laptop Protection

Today begins with: It is extraordinarily painful seeing any scratches on something that cost you a fortune (you know EXACTLY what I mean, you car nuts, sneaker heads, DSLR photographers.) Just by the price of my Mac, I'm gana pamper it like a newborn baby. and some more.

I've had my MacBook Pro for a few months. And for the love of Apple, it's a good chunk of mulah just for the stuff that protects it. Until Slickdeal happened(Thanks Kyle, Cody). Through the site, I've gotten coupon codes that 50% off my purchase(Unfortunately, I just checked and the code's now expired ).

I got a Speck Satin See Thru Case($25, after 50% off +shipping) and Marware Keyboard Protector($17 on Amazon, paid with a gift card given from taking some online questionnaires[Expired now, too]).

I'm just a black kinda guy.

The Satin See Thru package (Black) came with
-both lid covers
-lint free/microfiber cloth.

I chose Speck over Incase because friends recommended it.

Ooooh, see thru. Not particularly practical when placed on top of the mac, though. Since there's no light shining through the aluminum unibody except for the Apple logo.

Cleaning up the inner hard shell before applying it.

BAM.

BAMMM.

The matte black canvas = Many possibilities. Adding some personalities to it would be fun. and time consuming. (One day before the summer ends.)

The case fits the second gen(replaced the express card drive w/ the SD car drive) unibody perfectly.

No worries, battery meter still visible. *slick*

and the Apple, too. *slicker*

Personal Mark.

Now to step 2. I usually design gaphics with a can of beverage next to the screen. And the occasional cereal. I needed a keyboard protector, yet I didn't want to ruin the overall look of the MacPro.

So.....Marware Keyboard protector. (Black)
-Lint free micro fiber cloth (small 4"x4")
-Keyboard protector

I chose black for the cohesiveness with the Macbook Pro. Though, there's a few down falls:
-It covers the LED lit keyboards(One of the cool features provided by the unibody.)
-It covers the cap lock signal.

The clear may not have the above problems, but it's got one annoying, yet crucial issue:
-You can see the water marks whenever you press on a key. (It sticks to the key, then slowly peal itself away from it. )

The silicon gave it the squeezy texture on the back end.

It also has the lining around the edge to prevent any dust from slipping underneath the protector.

There, I personally like it a lot.

Fits great, but the typing sensation changed a bit - Not as crisp. It's something that I can get used to for the sake of preventing any juices leak between the keys and having a good cup of tea while designing.

That's it for my day. Protective.
