Jojo's big day.

Yup, Jojo's 21st bday. Woooot.

People showed up. We had the biggest king's cup game..I ever had. Here we were setting up the game.

Kevin was extra excited. Tim knew walup.

On the right side of the circle, we have Jojo's great friends.

Down at the bottom, we have Cody, who's being choked by Joey.

Look at the flame that's burning through Joey's eyes. Vicious.

Sum of the pieces isn't as great as a picture of its whole. So I did abit editing to present the full impact of how huge the circle was.

Even after 3 pictures, I still wasn't able to capture all the participants.

With massive gamers, we used 2 decks of cards. = 8 kings to fill up the cups.

"Waterfall."

Perlin really enjoyed the party.

a picture I called..

"All types of red."

Best wishes from all of us. "Happy Birthday, Jojo"

Chinese New Year Fashion

Chinese takes a good chunk of the world's population, it's no surprise that the new year carries a good degree of influence to the fashion industry.

Let's start off with Nike.

They've got an Air Max 1 out. A golden Ox is featured on the heel of this pair of kicks.

Clot also had a crossover with Nike Airforce 1

Puma's got something going on as well.

Reebok's Omni Lite.

With the Chinese floral print across the shoe really would make it a neckbreaker.

Stussy had a T to celebrate Chinese New Year as well.

Have you gotten your Chinese New Year gear, yet?

NoteTaker

I'm not the best at note taking nor am I the best student out there, but I do pay attention in class and take notes...my way.

It's really not as organized as those that take notes with indentations and bullet points.
But why have those features when you can already do that in programs like Microsoft Word?

Hand written notes should be fun, or at least fun when lectures can put you to sleep faster than bedtime stories or sheep counting.

I don't like to follow the lines on line papers. But I do like to fit as much info as I can on a 8x11, just so I can whip out two pages for studying instead of a stack of notes during midterm times. It helps me psychologically through stressful times.

For my notes, boxes are concepts and the examples lay in the clouds.

Wouldn't you agree that some of your best doddle and ideas came from times when the lecturer just going off the yingyang with course material and you're marinating in your own world?

That

..turned out to be this:

The End.
Have a lollipop?

Best of luck to you note takers.
Keep up an opened mind.

Yet another New Year?!

That's right, my fellow friends- The Chinese New. Year2009's the year of Ox and it's really on the 26th, but that has absolutely nothing to do with our celebration. There were no red envelopes, booze, or mahjong. Instead, a whole crap load of good food, card games, and super smash bros.

Here we have Soondae, the dog, wishing everyone a Happy Chinese New Year!

here's from the guys.

and the ladies.

Angela's capable of doing some brilliant camouflage.

Then it was a series of picture taking before our feast.

This is Kevin the stalker at his best. Angela would probably slaughter me, twice, for exposing this picture of her to the world.

But hey, here's a good one.

"awww"

More photos!

We have Yen the man and Joey the not so hairy. Cool dudes.

Then there it was, the dishes that we've all been waiting for.

Chicken Heart.

Literally.

Group photo time:
These things tend to fail especially when I was the photographer.

Tony on the left was extra hungry. Michelle on the corner was just a slick ninja.

Group photo 2.

Now you get what I meant by ninja? Oooh, Michelle.

Card games:
We invented this one. To get it started, you'll need two decks of cards.
We have the red and blue decks.
After equally distributed the cards to 2-6 players, we're ready to go.
All cards face down, no peeking, because prediction's the game.

Rules are simple:
1.)Same color cards must go to the its corresponding pile. (Red = left, Blue = right)
2.)You're now going to take turn guessing the first card from each of your own the deck.
3.)You can guess a certain number plus or minus one.
Ex: Ace + 1. So you'll win if the card is Ace or two. Nine - 1. You'll win if the card is nine or eight.
4.)If you get the card right, you can flick anyone of players in the ear.
5.)If you misplace the card to the other pile, every player can flick you in the ear.

There. Good luck.

Joey, in this case, unfortunately misplaced one of the blue card to the red card's pile.
So the flicking begins.

Ouch.

Have a marvelous Chinese 2009.

Online Photo Editor

Something Cool of the Day
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Online photoshop.
Maybe not as intensive as photoshop and it doesn't cover as many features. But, definitely something efficient for some quick photo editing.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I'm currently using Splashup to edit the photos for my blogposts.

Oh,dam. it just crashed on me. Not good.
..and it takes a while to save images.

..WHAT?! saving error.

Weak!

Pros: For those who are used to photoshop can easily get used to this tool. Supports flikr, photobucket, picasa..etc online photo stockage services if signed up.

Cons: Intake file type limited. So far, it seems like it doesn't take bmp(Microsoft Paint) files. There's no hot key features: "ctrl+Z" for redo or "ctrl+v" for paste. The mouse takes on full responsibility for this program. Slow saving speed. Frequent crashing.

Try it out yourself: Splashup
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Now I'm up to Pixlr
-so far so good.
-everything went smoothly.

Woot, Great piece of tool!

Pro: Supports hot keys. Works very similar to photoshop. Saves quickly. User friendly.

Cons: Images are cropped within the canvas size, anything exceeds the size would get cut off. Minor glitch.

Try it out yourself: Pixlr

Graffiti Snap shots x Potstickers

The process of the banner I'm making for UC Merced Hip-Hop club. It's digital graffiti.

Step 1.)Think of an idea and sketch out the design on paper.

Step 2.) Outline the graphic and apply the base colors.

3.) Add a few lines, cracks, and arrows for some in depth sensation.

4.) Elaborate the design by applying more colors and bubbles in the background.

4.) Graffiti => drips of ink. plus reflections.

5.) Now polish it and add the city line in the back for the finish.

Trucker Hats x Tutorial

A pair of custom truckers for Leon. Spent a good amount of time on them, blog worthy?
After reviewing the pictures, I realize this entry would turn out to be a really low quality tutorial and rather, an overview on the stages of customizing.

So here, I decided to change the title.

Trucker Hats & Snapshots.

ok, here we go.

1.) Prepare some truckers. Since truckers are one size fits all, that saved us a lot of time finding the perfect fit. On the other hand, truckers come with MANY colors, picking out the right colors usually ended up becoming the most difficult stage in customization. Dammit.

2.) Pick a good picture of the couple. As you can see the lovely couple in the background.

3.) Sketch out the outline and placement of the design.

Note: Since we have the paired hats. He asked for the placements and graphics that he'd like to be customized onto the front. Saved me a lot of planning time.

4.) Traced the perfect path. This step is crucial, it determines EVERYTHING.

Note: This is the only step that can't be messed up through the stages. It's like the skeletons, if they are crooked, no matter how well the muscle and skins are stacked on top of them, the creature would still turn out to be...you know, crooked.

5.) add the muscle and skins. Metaphorically speaking.

6.) BAM!

Either try customize the truckers the way I did it, or if you were pro enough, free hand it!
The risk of messing up and speed are positively correlated.

Vday Pre-Order Now Up

Before you order, take a look at the descriptions of the design.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Basics
The shirts come in two color ways for both males and females:

White shirt x Red Heart

Red shirt x White Heart
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
What's it all about:
A heart out of a, I say, a pretty complex but doable maze.
For it is you, now has the chance, to go through the rough and adventurous journey to grasp the heart of the significant other. Hence, "For you I will".

Do you have what it takes to be with the one you adore?

The Journey is tough. There scattered many temptations and traps. You must avoid them at all costs.

Distraction 1) Trap. Don't get close, it hurts. This is the one most people could avoid.

Distraction 2) TV. Entertainment. Gossip. Drama. Trust her, trust him. Don't let people words gotten into your way.

Distraction 3) The all mighty dragon. Here's to test out your witty mind and physical strength. Best solution: Avoid it.

Distraction 4) The temptations. This is the hardest one by far. Focus and get through the maze now!
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Bonus Features:

The shirt does not come with the key path.
You must handle the maze either by yourself, or with, you know, the significant other.
Good thing is..a little graphic would appear as you gradually complete the maze.

You'll just have to find the right path to figure this out.

For every shirt, there comes with this pin:

Feel free to pin this at the exit => the reward for finishing the maze is..the key to each others' heart. May love be with you.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
So, do you like it? If you do, Pre-Order the shirts here.

How pre-order works:

TTT. part III

Day 3
Last day at Tahoe.

There's Starbucks everywhere.

Way to start off a day after the good ol' mocha and hot coco for the kids.

Then it was it. The day I first skied.

Lost it to California Base. (Due to strong wind, Heavenly resort was closed.)

Right before we started our lesson, it started snowing storming.

Hours of practice had gone by, it was our first attempt to ski.

Started from a small hill. People tripped.

Some fell with a smile.

Epic fail. haha, jp. You were a sav for skiing without the pole.

Couple more hours had gone by, it was time for the real deeeaaall.

That's right.

For I was skiing too fast. Hence, I'm the photo taker.

By the end of the day. Our tech savy Calvin help saved the day by fixing the computer programmed lockers.

3 days were definitely well spent. However, a good vacation always tend to come with a heart aching price. It doesn't hurt to take one every once in a while, though. Gotta rest to walk even further.

TTT. Part II

Day 2
Since it was a vacation, we gotta squeeze the most out of it. That means waking up at 8 in the morning for some good OJs, sausages, and sweets.

Haven't waken up this early since..finals week.

It was our first exposure to such low climate this time around. Proper gear is needed.

Michelle was going for the beer belly sumo look.

Ok, first activity of the day- Horse Sleigh.

Meet Jacob and Abe. They're Belgium draft horses.

We have Becky here leading the way.

We sat on the very front row, while we thought it'd be the best seats, turned out Jac on the right couldn't stop farting. Way more than a person that both drinks milk and eats beans at the same time.

The famous pyramid mount.

Many Hollywood films took place on that peak.

Then there was lunch.

And random pictures. TIZ nerd zeeb.

Zoom, then it was activity #2 - Snow Mobile.

Calvin couldn't wait.

Our leader -Cody.

Instructing us the functions of most of the necessary buttons there are on the machine.

Their ride.

Our ride.

Really candid, Allen.

It way about a 45 minutes ride to the top of the hill.

Trust me, when you're on the snow mobile, 45 mints go past like sonic on steroids.

"Left hand up."
"umm..wait, like this?" - Michelle.

She ended up doing the lotus.

This makes a good Lake Tahoe vacation poster.

Woot, Cody.

Little that we know, he posted the shocker. ooooh you, cody.

Watch us ski for the first time tomorrow for part 3.

The Tahoe Trip. TTT. part 1.

Hello, guys, I'm back.
3-day trip. Waaaay too many pictures, hence the part 1, so I could share them with you...slowly and delicately.

"Benson you lazy procrastinator that finds way too many excuses."
Anyway,

Day 1.
On December 31st. We've arrived. We as in Michelle, Calvin, Allen, and Michelle's fambam.

Isn't this beautiful? Taken by me, on the 18th floor of..

Harrah's hotel is where we stayed. Right next to the ski resort, conveniently located.

Nikon D300.

the quality of that thing is..whoa. Too bad it doesn't belong to me, therefore the best picture ever taken of my camera is now lost.

First day for us was to settle in, familiarize with the hotel => buffet, arcade, bombard the hotel room.

At the buffet I was too busy eating.

Arcade:

Found a photo machine, unfortunately, it was out of order.
But fortunately, I have a canon powershot, photoshop, and the free booth.

BAM.

And there was this Jump rope machine.

Found a fitness center.

a 65 lb dumbbell, that's about 63 lbs too much for michelle to handle.

Wait, it was 12/31/08. => just moments away from 01/01/09.

People knew walup.

Happy 2009.

This is just the beginning. I skied for the first time. Snow mobiled for the first time. stay tune for part deux.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
CNGNOT

We took the advantage of the big bed, fully. as a cushion.

Super man that....
