FILAH design process

Monday, September 28, 2009

09-10 shirts for FILAH - Filipinos in Liberal Arts & Humanities.

I was given a few concepts.

I've worked with folks at FILAH from Vent Magazine to our last APCN fashion show. They were fun, passionate people and this concept of mine was just too serious.

Final concept- incorporating the original musical elements but adding the cartoon touch to make the shirt more lively.

Touching up with patterns and colors to make the design more intricate.

BAM.

I was a tourist for the day

Saturday, September 26, 2009

Few days ago, I was a tourist.

REALLY foggy.

To enter the headlands, you first must pass through a ONE WAY tunnel, hence, the 5 minute red light.

Blue sky, fresh air, perfect time for a generic pose.

a bright smile to complement.

Times like this makes me want to use a telephoto zoom lens.

The headlands were one of the settling points for the US during WWII.

Point Bonita light house. ..that was closed for the day.

Though, along side with a couple of military bunkers, there was a beautiful view of San Francisco.

SF ftw.

We went along side of the shore and arrived at:

Breathtaking views.

But why the long face?!

Much better.

Her turn.

My turn.

Had a little fish & chips.

Ummm..pricey and small quantity. This one's much better.

Clever design - Cup with a ring.

Fun and spectacular trip. Good tour spot, even if you're not a foreigner.

DavisText design process

Thursday, September 24, 2009

Designed a few things for the upcoming company - DavisText. It's a Davis based service that provides comparison book prices between all the online and Davis owned bookstores for students to have access to the cheapest textbooks.

First is their marketing aspects - Flyers.

The concept is for people to pick up the flyers themselves.

Second's the company's logo identity.
I came up with a couple drafts, but ehhh...

Finalized with this:

Third's their online platform.

I worked closely with the DavisText team for the site design. Drafts over drafts on easy accessibility, functionality, and optimization between coding and visual design.

I'd say the product's quite a revolution for all search web sites. click here to check it out.

Received new goodies.

Wednesday, September 23, 2009

A couple of packages sat in front of my door, way to start off the day.

First thing - a pre-release shirt from an upcoming brand from UC Merced- Abominable.

Thanks to Wesley, the designer of the brand.

Very detailed print job.

It's a 1 color dark gray on black T.

Sub-logo on the sleeve.

Great stuff. I don't think there's an official site for it yet, but click here for Wesley's personal blog.

2nd thing. My recent order of the 1TB HD has arrived. Time to back things up.

I've been really fortunate that none of my file have crashed or vanished, given that my whole career lays beneath my laptop and Lacie portable drive. *knocks on wood*

Got this for an amazing price of 75, thanks to slickdeals (I just checked[5 seconds ago], this unit's back up to 110 again.)

Came with the standard USB, power cord, HD, and, in this case, a holder.

Viola!

Decent size for a 1TB. Weighs about 2.2 lbs.

Aluminum finish is smoooth.

one thing about this drive:
Power cord's a bit short - about 4 ft.

Basic inputs. Power button's a good feature.

Lights up when powered.

Match well. I'd actually WOULD go as far as painting the stand black.

Welcome to the family - iOmega.
