Alameda Science & Tech Institute Design Process

This happened awhile back. ASTI (Alameda Science & Technology Institute) is a small scale early college high school preping students with appropriate curricular to push them off into universities.

TIZ was asked to design their senior class shirts - for class of 2010.

Right off the bat, the name of the school is mos def distinctive, which led to the following design process:

Flasks are signature labels for sci and tech.

Instead of graphics, I thought the name itself would be a good center piece for the shirt. Now onto placements of the type and design:

Here's what I came up with.

White and blue's their school color. I added quite a few elements of what I first relate to when it comes to science and technology. Phoenix's their mascot, so I turned the steam into it.

The back of the shirt:

Draft 2: There are only 26 students in their senior class, so I used their names to line up 2010.

Since it was a collaboration, I made it ASTI'Z'.

The End.

If you'd like to collaborate with TIZ, too, hit us up.
