Boston University - VSA design process

Thursday, February 25, 2010

Collaboration with the BUVSA.

I was asked to design their day-to-day club tee - sounds like fun.
The club wanted elements that can link the audience directly to the Vietnamese culture.

They provided me their logo, as well as pictures that comprise distinct features of Vietnam.

" Things like the water buffalo, the rice field, the straw hats, or the tourist carts."

I was given all the creative freedom. Instead of deviating entirely, I thought of combination to present the objects they mentioned:

^First concept. I had a hard time drawing a cycling buffalo. The composition was just off.

Then came the 2nd draft - a cleaner design of the buffalo with star hat.

Next step, color. Omit the cart for a better balance of the graphic.

The End.
