Lens set + New camera bag

Tuesday, April 27, 2010

Here's the basic gear I bring with me for trips. By basic, I mean everything I got.

Recently received a 75-300mm zoom as a bday gift (thanks, guys!) With a couple of lenses loaned to me by my uncle plus a tripod, I usually spend more effort holding them than shooting with them. Hence, the new camera bag.

My favorite one, by lowepro. Too bad it's a little small.

This is the whole package:

24-85mm, 12-24mm, 75-300mm, the 50mm and the Xti body(using it now for the picture about), laptop, charger, memory card...etc.

I've researched around the web, watched videos, and read articles.
-Lowepro's usually the brand to go, but I thought, with the stuff I needed for a bag, it was rather pricey and the design was bulky.
-Canon has a super nice bag(see the end of the post) with very reasonable pricing, but it doesn't hold a 15" laptop.
-Sling bags are nice, but not really my thing.
So it All comes down to this one:

Kata DR 467. It's the bigger size of its series. I like the design. The pricing is tolerable. Its got the space, with a bit extra, for all my crap.

The bag's split into the top (for random things like pens, charger, sketchbook) and the bottom (camera stuff) compartments.

The inner linings are yellow. Capacity wise..I can fit at least 8 apple chargers in this thing. You get the picture.

Bottom compartment. I can fit the body and all the lenses I mentioned above PLUS a flash.

All the dividers can be removed and rearranged.

Laptop.

It can fit a 17" spaciously.

Cool feature. Trolley strap.

Use it like this:

The side has a small pocket for bottle net.

..but it's surprisingly small. It can't even fit an 8 oz soda can.

Last but not least, it comes with a bag poncho. For all weather proof purposes. Very nice!

Overall, I was really satisfied with this purchase. All aspects are excellent. Now it's just allowing the time to test its durability.

Picnic Day ..that involves picnic

Sunday, April 25, 2010

It's been one hell of a week. Time to absorb some good ol' vitamin D and enjoy the carefree moments. Breaks are important.

Friends decided to all come about doing a little BBQ/picnic at a nearby park.

Refreshing. Taiwanese beer, available at your close by Ranch 99.

Aside from the food, booze, and breeze, it's the people that makes a picnic delightful. In the end, we are people people.

These kids will do great things.

Guess who's the professional drinker here.

Things that we should focus less about.

Jim's a cook.

...and a friend. that beats his friends in public.

100% natural smile certified.

Never forget to bring Kevin's stomach to a picnic.

Our new friend - Sunny.

Sidenote: Does anyone know what's the extra space is for on a can opener?

mmm, the end.

The show was AWESOME. Post will be up soon.
